Ireland’s sustainable development plan
Accompanied by a package of 70 measures, the Irish government announced its sustainable economic recovery national plan. The areas covered by the plan include the sustainability of public finances and economic resilience, natural resources, agriculture, climate change, transport, public health, education, innovation and research, education, skills & training, and global poverty. The plan also foresees an environmental tax reform and the development of sustainable development indicators.
Claiming that green economy and sustainability are at the heart of economic recovery, the Irish Government, which also emphasises implementation of EU environmental law. Other water-related measures include setting up domestic water metering and charges.
